Two Soldiers Killed in IED Blast along LOC in J&K

Two Army soldiers, who were on patrolling duty, were killed after anImprovised Explosive Device (IED)exploded in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday. The incident took place nearLine Of Control (LOC)in Akhnoor sector, and explosives were believed to have been planted by terrorists.
White Knight Corps confirmed that blast and said that the operation was underway. “Suspected Improvised Explosive Device blast reported in #Laleali in Akhnoor Sector during a fence patrol resulting in two fatalities. Own troops are dominating the area and search operations are underway. White Knight Corps salutes and pays tribute to the supreme sacrifice of two gallant soldiers,” it said in a post on X.
Earliar today, a rusted mortar shell was safely defused in the Akhnoor sector. The rusted shell was seem by the locals in the Pratap Canal near Namandar village, after which they immediately informed the administration, according to the news agency.
According to officials, the incident took place around 3:50 PM near a forward post in the Bhattal area. The injured personnel were immediately rushed to a hospital, where two of them, including a captain, succumbed to their injuries. The condition of another injured soldier is said to be stable.
Following the blast, more troops have been mobilized to launch a massive search operation along the Line of Control. In a tragic coincidence, the wedding of one of the soldiers, who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty in the Akhnoor sector of Jammu on Tuesday, was slated in April.
Naik Manhas, 29, was also set to tie the knot with a woman from Sathraian village of RS Pura in Jammu district.

Father Calls for Strong Action
The father called for strong action against the terrorists and those orchestrating such attacks. IED blasts are happening frequently, and vehicles of security personnel are being targeted by terrorists. It is high time we take strong action, he said.
