Action movies backed up with a history are always a thrill to watch. The recently released movie ‘Sky Force’ starring Akshay Kumar and the newcomer Veer Pahariya offers full action to the audience. This movie has collected INR 61.25 crores in its debut weekend, making one of the top movies to be released this week. The film opened with Rs 12.5 crore on its first day, increasing its earnings twice with the second day collecting about Rs 21 crore. The major boost happened on Sunday, pulling a larger number of people to the theatres making a profit of about INR 27.50 crore on the third day of its release.
Collections Made Huge
The producers of the film have reported that the film has grossed about INR 15.30 crores profit on the day of its release. This profit increased to Rs 42 crores on Saturday marking the second day of the film. It is also said that the film is expected to enter the 100-crore club if it continues to have such collections in the coming weeks,
Cast of the Film
The film is co-directed by Sandeep Kelwani and Abhishek Kapur, with Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya playing the lead. This marks the debut film of Veer Pahariya. The plot of the film revolves around an IAS officer T. Vijaya (played by Veer Pahariya) who goes missing during the India- Pakistan war in 1965 and another IAS officer KO Ahuja (Played by Akshay Kumar) goes on a daring mission to bring him back.  The film also has Sara Ali Khan and Nirmat Kaur playing significant roles in the film that add depth to the story. The film will compete with the Shahid Kapoor starrer ‘Deva’ that will be released on January 31st in the coming weekend.
What Do the Reviews Say
Though the movie has grossed more than expected in its third day of the run, the film is receiving more negative reviews than positive. Most of the reviewers have given a 2.5 rating for the film, criticizing the plot and the scenes of the movie to be like a play station. Â This time last year fighter movie was released having a similar story that also did not earn good earning. Reviewers have also stated that Akshay Kumar has overshadowed Veer Pahariya, who is playing the main character in the film and the film’s story revolves around his character. This has become the major weakness of the film.
