Manu Bhaker was designated as the face of Indias shooting teams defeat at Tokyo 2020. When she was just a teenager and competing in her first Olympics, she had a horrible experience in all three events. To make matters even worse, she experienced a weapon malfunction. India won its first medal at any sport in Paris 2024 and its fifth in shooting. From Athens 2004 until London 2012, India has won three straight Olympic shooting medals, but the country was unable to deliver any results at the next two Olympics.

In the eight-woman final, Manu Bhaker was placed third with a score of 221.7. Republic of Koreas Oh Ye Jin won the gold medal with a new Olympic record of 243.2. Yeji Kim trailed behind her and defeated Bhaker to go the gold medal round and win the silver with a total score of 241.3.

Following her medal victory, she cited the Bhagwat Gita and Krishnas advice to Arjuna, saying, Pay attention to your actions rather than the results.

After her big win Indian Prime Minister Modi called her and congratulated the ace shooter for her bronze medal in the womens 10m air pistol, saying her success in the shooting arena made the nation proud.

Several Bollywood celebrities, including Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, and others congratulated the young shooter and honored her extraordinary accomplishment by telling her stories.

Also, she is going to participate in the womens 25-meter pistol event, and the mixed team 10 air pistol event. Within the Indian shooting squad of 21-atletes, she is the only one to compete in more than one individual event.
