As per various agencies inputs, after a bitter election campaign, US voters seem to have delivered Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump a second non-consecutive stint in the Oval Office. (Oval Office is the official workplace of the President of the United States. Part of the Executive Office, it is located in the West Wing of the White House in Washington, DC).

In a historical comeback, Donald Trump is elected the 47th president of the United States on Wednesday, surpassing the critical 270 electoral votes and securing a total of 277 in the 2024 Presidential Election.

Trump’s victory marks an extraordinary return to the White House after his controversial exit in 2020. Despite refusing to accept his 2020 loss, which led to the January 6 Capitol riots.

Surviving two assassination attempts, he has now reclaimed the highest office of the world. His win in Wisconsin proved pivotal, putting him over the necessary electoral threshold.

Oldest in History to be the US President

Trump becomes the oldest person in history to ever hold the presidency. From his beginnings as a business tycoon to a reality TV star, to becoming the first US president to face criminal convictions while in office, Trump has consistently defied political norms — and his latest victory is no exception.

Prior to this, as for Electoral College numbers, which determine the winner in this election, Trump was leading with 267, on the brink of a landslide victory. Then, he had declared his sure win and claimed: “We made History” in a victory speech in Florida.

While, the Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris was trailing with 224 votes. She was yet to concede defeat in a tight race as the majority number was 270. As far as swing states are concerned, Trump had secured four battleground states.

Trump said he would be prepared to concede defeat after Tuesday’s vote “if it’s a fair election”, while again raising concerns about the use of electronic voting machines.

He, however, said he feels “very confident” about winning back the White House, after casting his Election Day ballot in Florida in one of the most contentious US elections in decades.

Addressing a huge roaring crowd of his admirers at west Palm Beach, Florida, Trump thanked Americans for voting for him- “We made history tonight”. Vance also delivered victory speech.

World leaders are congratulating Trump for his victory. China is hoping for peaceful co-existence with the US. India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also congratulated his “Friend” Trump.

Extending his congratulations to Donald Trump on his 2024 US Presidential election victory, PM Modi expressed his eagerness to renew collaboration between India and the US, aiming to strengthen their partnership. He also called on Trump to foster global peace and stability in the context of ongoing Middle East and Russia-Ukraine conflicts.

“As you build on the successes of your previous term, I look forward to renewing our collaboration to further strengthen the India-US Comprehensive Global and Strategic Partnership. Together, let’s work for the betterment of our people and to promote global peace, stability and prosperity,” PM Modi shared his message on X.

It is also being anticipated that with Trump as President, near sixty thousand Indian tech professionals in AI can get work visa in US.

On the other side, “Tesla shares” jump as Trump includes Musk in his victory speech. A day before the election, it was also a big win and major boost for Trump & Musk; and, a setback for Kamala, as a judge in Pennsylvania rejected a ‘Democrat’ party-linked effort to block Musk’s $1 million-a-day voter prize. This came even as insiders in Kamala’s camp have raised alarm about the “scary” early-voting situation, suggesting that the “Democrats” may be facing serious challenges as Election Day approaches.

The 2024 election took place amid heated debates on pressing issues such as inflation, immigration, and the Russia-Ukraine war. Trump, as he has done throughout his campaign, channelled the frustrations of many Americans. In his acceptance speech, he vowed to “end the illegal immigration crisis by closing the border and completing the wall, much of which I’ve already built.” He also made bold promises to tackle inflation, claiming it would “disappear completely” under his leadership.

In one of his most eye-catching promises, Trump declared his intention to broker an end to the Russia-Ukraine conflict, a war that has caused immense suffering across Europe. “I will bring peace to the world,” he told a jubilant crowd. “I will bring both sides to the table, and we will negotiate a deal that ends the violence and leads to prosperity.”

Trump’s victory is a major blow to the hopes of Kamala Harris’s supporters, who were eager to see her make history as the first female president of the United States. Despite Harris’s ambitions, Trump’s unwavering support base carried him to victory, dashing the Democratic dream of a Harris-led White House for another election cycle.

With the 2024 presidential race concluded, all eyes are now on how Trump plans to implement his policies and navigate the complex political landscape of his second term. For many, his return to power marks the continuation of a deeply polarized era in American politics.

Something triggered Elon Musk to be Donald Trump’s biggest cheerleader and Biden’s biggest critic. In fact, Elon Musk’s support for Donald Trump has evolved from criticism to endorsement as his relationship with Joe Biden soured over the years.

As Donald Trump inched closer to victory in the US presidential elections, one man has been by his side cheering him on. Elon Musk became Trump’s star campaigner, both offline and online, soon after a failed assassination bid against the former US president during a rally, but the two did not always see eye to eye. Elon Musk supported Donald Trump’s rival Joe Biden in the 2020 elections, and before that Hillary Clinton also. He used to say “I ‘m half Republican and half Democrat”. Now, he proved to be a staunch supporter of Trump, a Republican.

Why Elon Musk supported Donald Trump’s rivals Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden in the 2016 and 2020 elections…?

Musk, who had previously described himself as “half Democrat, half Republican”, began hitting out at US President Joe Biden and his administration over their policies soon after he was elected.

The relationship soured further in 2021 when he took to Twitter, now X, to complain that his company Tesla wasn’t invited to the White House’s summit on the future of electric cars despite it selling 74% of all EVs in the country.

In September 2021, following the launch of all-civilian space flight, Musk hit out at Biden when he was asked why he had not yet congratulated SpaceX. “He’s still sleeping,” Musk had said in a mocking post on X.

Musk also criticized Biden’s support to workers’ unions and said he was unable to “get a lot done”. In 2022, he slammed the Democratic party labelling them as “the party of division & hate” and said that he would shift to the Republican side.

The relationship between Trump and Musk became more cordial and stronger after Musk bought Twitter and reinstated Trump’s account. Over the next two years, Musk stopped short of endorsing Trump calling the decision a “difficult choice” but that changed in the run up to the election this year when Trump narrowly escaped an assassination bid at a rally in Pennsylvania.

“I fully endorse President Trump and hope for his rapid recovery,” he wrote in a post on X, hours after the attack. In October, Trump returned to Pennsylvania for another rally and this time, Musk was by his side, supporting him. Wearing a black “Make America Great Again” cap, he warned that if Trump lost, it might be the last election and it was crucial to vote for him to save American democracy.
