Various severe conflicts since the beginning of the 21st century, including the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Hamas attack on Israel, Iran’s large missile attack on Israel, the US-UK attack on Yemen’s Houthis, and also rising tensions between the United States and China have been perceived as triggers for almost a certain third World War.

Symbolically, October 7 has gained special significance, as Israel was attacked on this particular date last year. Now people this year also fear that there could again be a big bang on the first anniversary day of the Hamas attack. Then, Hamas waged the deadliest attack on Jews. Here, more than 1,000 Israelis were killed; many are still in their captivity; and families together remained bereaved by the terror attack on the Jewish nation.

HAMAS, the Islamic Resistance Movement, a militant Islamic fundamentalist political movement opposes peace with Israel and uses terrorism as a weapon. It is committed to armed resistance against Israel and the creation of a Palestinian state. The group has engaged in several rounds of violent conflict with Israel. The most wicked was on 7 October 2023, when it launched a massive surprise attack against Israel.

Recently, the Iranian regime launched more than 180 ballistic missiles at Israel, which marks the second direct Iranian strike on Israel in months. It is considered the largest single ballistic missile attack ever before. Alongside there have been ongoing assaults by its allies-Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon, since October 7, 2023. On the other hand, with assistance from the U.S. and other allies, Israel’s multi-layered air defense system intercepted most of the aerial attacks. Iran’s top leader labels the attack “legal and legitimate”; whereas, PM Benjamin Netanyahu holds that “Iran made a ‘big mistake and it will pay for it.”

Netanyahu warns that those who attack Israel, from Hamas leaders to Hezbollah commanders, “will understand” the country’s resolve, calling for global support against Tehran, and emphasizing, “Israel is on the move, and the axis of evil is retreating.” “We have plans, and we will act in the time and place we choose.” Such bold, exciting, and unchecked threats and actions for both the combating sides seem sure to cause havoc all around the globe.

Presently, Israel’s targets in Iran include intelligence sites, oil refineries, nuclear areas, and more. Other nations are on the alert and guiding Israel to move soft.

In a very recent attack of 5 rockets from Lebanon, a HAMAS commander is killed in Lebanon. Iran is planning to eliminate the Jewish state. Its recent attack is the latest in a decades-long genocidal campaign against Israel and the Jewish people. The regime’s proxies have also targeted American military installations in the Middle East; in January, three U.S. military personnel were killed in a drone attack in Jordan.

Israel has faced indirect Iranian attacks for decades through its terror proxies such as Hezbollah in Lebanon, Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad from Gaza and the West Bank, and more recently, the Houthis in Yemen.  In April, Iran conducted its first-ever direct attack on Israel, launching some 300 missiles and drones at the Jewish state. Iran holds that the attack on Israel was in retaliation for Israel’s assassination of Hezbollah terror chief Hassan Nasrallah in September; Hamas’s leader Ismail Haniyeh in July; and other key figures in Iran’s terror network.

As per the international community’s response, U.S. President Joe Biden has authorized the military to aid Israel’s defense against Iranian attacks and to “shoot down missiles targeting Israel.” U.S. Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken said that “the entire world should condemn” Iran’s attack. Several other world leaders and allies of Israel issued statements strongly condemning the Iranian attack and offering support for Israel, including the U.K., Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Czechia, Romania, and many others. American Jewish Committee stands in unwavering solidarity with the people of Israel. A call is also made for global economic sanctions on Iran.

When the UN restrictions expired last year, 48 states had pledged to maintain their sanctions on Iran, calling Iran’s missile program “one of the greatest challenges to international nonproliferation efforts.

As per international policy, Indian warships have reached the Iranian Port for drills as per India’s balancing act amid West Asia tension. Being a true ‘Messiah of Peace’ India is walking on a diplomatic tightrope to bring peace to the warring nations and the world.
