A loud bomb blast shook New Delhi on Sunday morning as it occurred near the CRPF School in Prashant Vihar, Rohini. As per reports, the incident took place around 7:30 am, startling the residents and causing significant structural damage to the school walls.

The explosion prompted a swift response from multiple security agencies. The Delhi Police, National Investigation Agency (NIA), National Security Guard (NSG), and Special Forensic Teams were quick to arrive on the scene to investigate the blast. Despite the magnitude of the explosion, there were no reports of injuries or casualties.

According to reports, the blast near the CRPF school in Delhi was so intense that it could be heard from several hundred meters away. Videos from the site showed thick plumes of smoke rising, and the blast causing damage to nearby vehicles, shops, and structures. According to reports, the Delhi Police says that the explosion was caused by a low-intensity Improvised Explosive Device (IED) controlled by a timer or remote. Notably, the device did not contain shrapnel or ball bearings, which minimized the potential for casualties.

Investigative agencies found white powder at the site, suspected to be from a crude homemade bomb made with ammonium phosphate and other chemicals. Experts from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), CRPF, and NSG collected samples for analysis to determine the exact composition of the explosive. Additionally, a battery and wire were found near the blast spot, suggesting carefully premeditated placement.

The Delhi Police have filed a First Information Report (FIR) under Section 4 of the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act, Section 3 of the Indian Explosives Act, and other relevant sections. The investigation is ongoing, and a report will be submitted to the Home Ministry.

The police suspect that the blast was intended to send a message rather than cause significant harm. The choice of location and timing—near a school wall and early in the morning on a Sunday—suggests a deliberate attempt to avoid casualties.

    Khalistan Connection?

The explosion is believed to be linked to pro-Khalistan groups, as a Telegram post claimed responsibility, stating it was in retaliation for the alleged targeting of pro-Khalistan separatists by Indian agents.

On the evening following the blast, a video with a “Khalistan Zindabad” watermark surfaced on the Telegram channel “Justice League India.” The message accompanying the video claimed responsibility for the attack, citing it as a response to alleged actions by Indian agencies against pro-Khalistan members. The message warned of the group’s capability to strike at any time.

The message read, “If Indian coward agency and their master think they can hire filthy goons to target our members to silence our voice then they live in fools world. They can’t imagine how close we are to them and how capable we are to strike anytime #KhalistanZindabad #JLI.”

The attack was allegedly in response to Canadian PM Justin Trudeau’s allegations on India claiming that India employed the services of criminal organizations to carry out targeted attacks against Pro-Khalistanis in Canada and US.
