The daughter of Walmart billionaire Sam Walton, Alice Walton, has surpassed Francoise Bettencourt Meyers, the heiress of the L’Oreal cosmetics company, to become the world’s wealthiest woman. Walmart’s stock increased by 44% this year. Which added another $25 billion to Walton’s fortune taking her current worth to more than $95 billion.  

Alice Louise Walton was born on October 7, 1949, in Newport, Arkansas. Her father, Sam Walton, founded Walmart in the town of Bentonville, Arkansas, where she was raised. 

Career  

Alice worked at First Commerce Corporation and Arvest Bank Group at the beginning of her career and obtained the experience of an equity analyst and money manager. She then attempted brokerage work for EF Hutton and later formed Llama Company in 1988. She later held the positions of CEO, president and chairwoman of the company.
