Following the ending of Gaza ceasefire talks, there are major disruptions in the middle east region. Earlier on Monday, Hamas attacked several fresh rocket missiles towards Tel Aviv, a region in the central part of Israel.

This attack was reportedly observed after the Israeli airstrikes killed at least 16 people in Gaza last week.

The Israeli military blamed Hamas for civilian deaths, as the attacks have usually happened in the residential and dense areas.

Notably, this attack has added to the fears of breaking out of World War 3. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned Hamas of a fierce attack.

Amid the ongoing conflict in the region, British Airways has cancelled its flights from UK to Israel until Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah announced that the strike, which was intended to target an Israeli military intelligence base near Tel Aviv, had been postponed allowing more time for peace negotiations. He further stated that if the outcomes of this strike are judged insufficient, the organization will react later.

    US tried Ceasefire negotiations

The United States, along with Qatar and Egypt have spent months trying to ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. The United States secretary Antony Blinken emphasized the proposal’s importance to bridge the gaps between Israel and Hamas and enable them to release their hostages. Last Tuesday, he met the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem and Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi in El Alamein. This marked the 9th trip since the tension in the middle east has escalated.

During his visit, Blinken also stressed upon the importance of the deal, citing that the deal needs to get done in the upcoming days. He further also outlined his commitment to do everything possible.

Although, Israelis accepted the proposal and agreed to ceasefire, Hamas rejected it, raising new concerns and conflicts in the region. The Iran-backed Hamas called for reversing the Gaza Ceasefire deal, and accused US acquiescing to new conditions from Israel.

EU to suspend co-operation with Israel

Additionally, 60 media and human rights organizations have joined forces and issued a statement, appealing the European Union to suspend a cooperative agreement with Israel following the journalists killed in the attack.

In a joint statement, the organizations said, “In response to the unprecedented number of journalists killed and other repeated press freedom violations by the Israeli authorities since the start of the war with Hamas, Reporters Without Borders (RSF) and 59 other organizations are calling on the European Union to suspend its Association Agreement with Israel and to adopt targeted sanctions against those responsible.”.
