Punjabi artists’ concerts in India are marking the headlines day after day. Be it Karan Aujla, AP Dhillon, or Diljit Dosanjh’s concert, the Punjabi singers are at the center of controversies and facing many restrictions. This time, the spotlight is on AP Dhillon. According to the latest updates, Dhillon’s December 21 concert is shifted to a new venue.

New Concert Venue of AP Dhillon

Following the criticism on Diljit’s concert in Sector 34, the Chandigarh administration has changed the venue of AP Dhillon’s concert from the Exhibition Ground in Sector 34 to Rally Ground in Sector 25. The ground of Sector 25 is designated for protests, processions, and rallies with prior permission.

As per the reports, during the earlier concerts of Karan Aujla on December 7 and Diljit Dosanjh on December 14 in Sector 34, locals complained about several issues. They claimed about facing inconveniences like traffic chaos, noise pollution, and loss of business. Considering the problems faced by the residents and local traders by these events, the administration chose to prohibit the large gatherings in Sector 34 in future.

Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav said, “We have made the decision to relocate AP Dhillon’s concert from Sector 34 to Sector 25 and have already informed the organizers about the venue change.” The Commissioner further added that following the two large concerts in Sector 34, which is situated in heart of the city, they received numerous complaints. After the events, it takes days to clear out the debris and trash left by the visitors.

The Chandigarh Beopar Mandal president, Charanjiv welcomed the decision taken by the authorities. He said, “This decision aims to spare the general public from inconvenience and protect traders from business losses. “We hope that the Chandigarh Administration will not grant permission for such events to be held at the Sector 34 ground in the future.”

Though the venue is shifted to Sector 25, we can’t deny that events here face many challenges. Commuters face troubles while traveling between Sector 25/38 Dakshin Marg and the road near Gate Number 3/UIET, Sector 14. These roads are often blocked during such events, leading to significant disruptions.
