YesMadam, a Noida-based home service startup, has allegedly fired its employees, who said they were stressed in a survey conducted by the company. The survey was conducted to determine the stress levels among employees. Those who responded that they were stressed, were fired. An email from Ashu Arora Jha, HR Manager, has been going viral on the internet, sparking curiosity and confusion among fans. In the mail, the HR manager has mentioned that it has terminated all its employees, who reported being stressed.
Notably, YesMadam is a popular Indian startup that has grown significantly. It has also appeared in the third season of Shark Tank and received funding from four sharks, including Vineeta Singh, Piyush Bansal, Ritesh Agarwal, and Aman Gupta.
While the idea behind the survey should be to improve the working environment for employees, instead, the termination of employees has ignited a lot of confusion among people, making it hard for them to believe it.
The mail was entitled, “Update on Stress Survey.” “Recently we conducted a survey to understand your feelings about stress at work. Many of you shared your concerns, which we deeply value and respect. As a company committed to fostering a healthy and supportive work environment, we have carefully considered the feedback. To ensure that no one remains stressed at work, we have made the most difficult decision to part ways with employees who indicated significant signs.”

Meanwhile, this move has sparked anger and shock among employees, who believed it to be a prank. A copywriter at YesMadam has posted online informing about her overnight termination. “What’s happening at YesMadam? First you conduct a random survey and then fire us overnight because we’re feeling stressed. And not just me; 100 other people have been fired too.” She wrote on LinkedIn.
The post further also drew the netizens attention. A user wrote, “This is literally the embodiment of ‘Tum Mujhe Stress do, main tumhe azadi dunga.” “What kind of sick solution is this? Was your stress affecting your performance? Or making the company lose money in any shape or form??”, added another user.
