    Indian Cricketer Smriti Mandhana Creates History

    Smriti Mandhana becomes the fastest Indian women cricketer to score 4,000 runs in ODIs. On 15 January 2025, she scored her fastest century in terms of balls (70) and became the first Indian female cricketer to score 10 centuries in ODIs. This was her 10th ODI century.

    Smriti overtook English great Nat Sciver Brunt with the century since both players had nine hundred before this match. She broke many records in this innings.

    During the current ODI series against Ireland, Smriti Mandhana continued to enjoy her astonishing form and gave a spectacular performance. The star batter opened the series after smashing 41 in the opening ODI and then hit a brilliant 73 in the second. She took it a step further by smashing her 10th ODI century to demonstrate India’s supremacy.

    She became the first Indian player to reach the double digits in ODI hundreds with her tenth century, which also happened to be the fastest century ever achieved by an Indian women player (70 balls).

    She overtook English great Nat Sciver Brunt with the century since both players had nine hundred before this match. Additionally, Smriti is currently getting closer to the women’s cricket record for most ODI hundreds.

    She needs six more tons to break the record, whereas Meg Lanning already has fifteen tons.

    Mandhana came out determined to take on the Irish bowlers on the level field of the Saurashtra Cricket Stadium, displaying her imperial best. The assault began at the first ball, and with her outstanding century, Mandhana destroyed the visitors without turning around. When she hit the 50-run milestone, the opening batswoman began hitting sixes, reaching the milestone in a record 70 balls.

    India vs Ireland 3rd women’s ODI at Rajkot, where India registered a record 304-run win over Ireland in the third women’s ODI to secure back-to-back series whitewashes in 50-overs. It was from one-sided affair and this series as well, where Indian Women clean swept Irish Women.

    Smriti Mandhana, the victorious skipper of India Women, said it was a near-perfect game, scoring the amount of runs they did and then bowling them out quickly was excellent. Mentions it was a good wicket to bat, and she tried a few shots and she’s happy it came off. Ends by saying they’ll be having a meeting soon, they’ll want to work on their fielding and a few more things going ahead, especially with the World Cup coming up this year.
