With the latest news of Honey Singh supporting Diljit, the artist has proved his popularity and honesty. The year 2025 was all about Diljit Dosanjh being the talk of town. From his appearances on international shows and collaborations with global artists to dominating music charts and selling out concerts, the artist was everywhere. But the buzz around him didn’t stop there.

    While Diljit was winning hearts worldwide, he also found himself under scrutiny. During Diljit’s Dil-Luminati India Tour, there was hardly a day when the artist was not in the news. The artist faced several advisories from different states, warning him not to sing songs that mention liquor and weapons.

    Despite being in the layers of controversies, the artist was unstoppable. Even the warnings failed to dampen his spirit and his tempting energy. With unwavering support from his fans and fellow artists, Diljit solidified his position as the No. 1 artist not only in Punjab, but in India.

    During one of his shows in India, Diljit commented on altering his song lyrics, “If all states ban liquor consumption, I will never sing a song about alcohol in my entire life.” Following his this statement, many artists and fans cheered showing their love towards him. Artists like Kangana Ranaut and Honey Singh also made statements, questioning the government and supporting Diljit.

    In his latest interview with India Today, Honey Singh was seen seeing quashing the hypocrisy of states administrations. He expressed his views over how states issues advisories and then same states earn profits from the liquor sales.

    When asked by the interviewer Honey said, “They aren’t shutting down liquor stores. Let them make it a dry state and make India a dry country. Then we can have a conversation about all this.” Honey Singh, who has now stopped drinking humorously responded, “We’ll sing a song about lassi, chhaas, jal jeera… you know, something like that,” suggesting that he could still create catchy tunes without referencing alcohol.

    He also highlighted that references to alcohol are a part of cultural traditions in many communities, not just in Punjab. “We go to parties, people are drinking. We go to weddings, people are drinking. It’s part of the culture, not just in Punjab…”

    Before Honey Singh, Actress Kangana Ranaut also supported Diljit. The artist commented, “Artistic expression is not bound by any limitations. Himachal folk music, for instance, has numerous songs with themes like these. In art, it’s the emotions that truly matter. Everyone has their own perspective. That said, when it comes to issues like substance abuse, it’s not just the government’s responsibility, but also that of society as a whole.”
