    Congress’ Reply

The Congress party and Rahul quashed the allegations, stating that the BJP MPs were not allowing the LOP to enter the Parliament. Speaking to the reporters present, Rahul said, “This may have been captured on your camera. I was attempting to enter through the Parliament entrance when BJP MPs tried to stop me, push me, and threaten me.”

Congress, in turn, accused BJP MPs of pushing Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and injuring him. “But we are not deterred by such jostling… this is the entrance, and we have the right to enter. BJP MPs were trying to block us,” Rahul said. “The central issue is that they are attacking the Constitution and disrespecting the legacy of Ambedkar ji.”

Following the clash between the BJP MPs, Anurag Thakur and Bansuri Sawraj filed a complaint in Parliament Street Police station. Shortly after, Congress MPs too filed a complaint against the BJP.

    What Does the FIR State?

The FIR states that the Congress leader “ignored” the instructions “with malicious intent to disrupt the protest and physically harm NDA MPs.” The FIR further claims that Mukesh Rajput sustained a serious injury to the back of his head, while Pratap Rao Sarangi injured his forehead.

It further stated that Rahul Gandhi’s “reckless and intentional actions,” in which he was fully aware of the potential for serious or life-threatening injuries from a fall, allegedly involved him pushing the MPs.

Congress’ Challenge to BJP, ‘Release the CCTV Publicly’

Rahul Gandhi confronted the administration, challenging the NDA government to release the CCTV clips of the Parliament that shows him pushing the BJP MPs. “Absolutely, we want them to release the CCTV footage immediately. The truth will come out, and everyone will know what really happened. You all saw it yourselves,” Rahul Gandhi stated.

Additionally, Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate through her social media called on the BJP to make the CCTV footage public.

On a separate note, after the Parliament scuffle, Om Birla, Lok Sabha speaker issued a strict directive. The speaker stated that no MPs or political parties will hold protests at Parliament gates.
