    Shocking Incident in Punjab’s Phagwara: Over 20 Cows Dead, 28 Severely Ill in Suspected Poisoning

    In a shocking incident, more than 20 cows died suspiciously at Shri Krishna Gaushala on Sunday night, December 8, 2024, in Phagwara, Punjab. Another 28 cows fall severely ill and are undergoing treatment.

    Reportedly, the cows fell ill, and many of them died after consuming fodder. At first, it was suspected that the animals were killed by alleged poisoning. Soon after the incident, the leaders of the Hindu organization, including Shiv Sena’s Inderjit Karwal and others, rushed to the gaushala. They have also expressed their concerns over the incident. They also alleged that some miscreants have allegedly poisoned the animals and demanded their immediate arrests.

    Meanwhile, police also reached the spot immediately and carried out their investigation processes. They have also checked the CCTV footage of the incident.

    SP Rupinder Kaur Bhatti said that the carcasses have been sent to Ludhiana for postmortem, while other cows are being treated at the local hospitals. Kapurthala SSP Gaurav Toora said that they have registered a case on the complaint of Gaushala Manager Satnam Singh.

    Hindu Leaders Demands Immediate Action

    As the matter came into light, several other leaders, including MP Dr. Rajkumar Chabbewal, Phagwara MLA Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal, former minister Som Prakash, and others, also reached the spot and extended their grievances.

    The preliminary investigations have revealed that some miscreants added poison to the cow’s fodder late at night on Sunday. After which the cow’s health started deteriorating and some of them died.

    While many of them are still in critical condition. The incident has raised a lot of anger among people and the Hindu organizations, demanding a Phagwara Bandh on Monday, December 9, 2024. They have urged the authorities to take prompt measures in the matter.

    Further, the leaders from Hindu organizations have asked the local shopkeepers in Phagwara city to keep their shops closed in the wake of this incident.
