In a horrific accident, five people, including four women, died after an SUV collided with a bus on Monday, November 25, 2024. The incident took place in the Mallawan district of Uttar Pradesh in the Gauri Nagar locality.
Four other people were also left injured in the accident. According to the sources, both the SUV and bus were carrying passengers who were returning from different weddings. The car was returning from a wedding in Kanpur, while the bus was returning from a wedding procession in Baghuali, the police reported.
Police Investigation into the Matter
ASP East Nripendra Kumar informed that five people died and four others were left injured.
“The accident took place when a car returning from a wedding procession in Kanpur struck with a bus returning from another wedding procession in Baghuali at the Gauri Nagar intersection in the Mallawan Kotwali area,” he added.
The deceased victims travelling in the SUV were identified as Seema, aged 40, Pratibha (32), Ramlali (52), and Subham (28). Their bodies have been taken into custody immediately for the post-mortem. While the injured ones have been sent to the hospital for treatment.
The police officials said that they reached the spot after receiving the information about the accident and took action immediately. None of the injured received major injuries.
ASP Kumar further told that an investigation has been launched into the matter and is still underway.
CM Yogi Adityanath Announces Proper Medical Aid to Injured
Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, has taken cognizance of the incident and expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased. He further also wished for the speedy recovery of all those injured.
As per the sources, the Chief Minister also instructed the district administration to provide the injured with the best treatments and services. Relief work has also been carried out as per the instructions directed.

The above road accident comes in the wake of another road accident that took place in the Gautam Buddh Nagar district. About eight people were injured during the accident. The incident occurred after a canter hit two cars on the Yamuna Expressway on the route from Agra to Noida.
