The point to be underlined here is widows or divorcees without encumbrances. The phrase refers to the women who lost their spouses through death (widows) or are legally separated (divorcees). Here without encumbrances indicate they should not have any burden that can hinder their work.
How is this Discriminatory?
This job offering advertisement can be seen as discriminatory to many other sections. This includes:
- Discrimination against unmarried women and,
- Discrimination against divorcees with encumbrances.
The intention behind this may be to support specific groups, but the effects of such things may be offensive or might hurt the sentiments of others.
Exclusion of Unmarried or Single Women
