    Wedding Shenanigans Turns Tragic: Cook Loses Life over Dessert Dispute

    In a shocking turn of events, a 42-year-old cook from Rajasthan died of a heart attack after being beaten up over a dessert dispute in Gujrat’s Banaskantha Village on Saturday, December 7, 2024. Reportedly, the cook was asked to make Ladoos at the wedding, but he made Kaju Katli instead, which escalated the situation into physical assault, leading to his unfortunate death.

    According to the reports, Deva Maheshwari, a resident of Samarvada, had given a contract to Sukhdev Prajapati, a cook, to prepare food and sweets for his family wedding.

    He was asked to make Ladoos, however, confused Prajapati made Kaju Katli instead due to some confusion. This annoyed Maheshwari and his three relatives, who abused and hit him, after which Prajapati suddenly collapsed.

    After the incident, he was suddenly rushed to the nearby hospital, where he was declared dead. In a preliminary investigation by the police, it has been revealed that Prajapati got confused in two catering orders he had. Kaju Katli increased the host’s cost.

    Meanwhile, there’s no such evidence of their fight that has been found. The authorities are investigating the case. Police Inspector AT Patel said when Prajapati collapsed, he was smoking bidi.

    “A case of accidental death has been registered. We will take action based on the postmortem report,” Inspector Patel added.

    This is to be noted that Sukhdev Prajapati and his son Prakash were the cooks at the wedding. In the Saturday menu, Ladoo was to be made. Instead, Kaju Katli was made. This made the host irked, the suspects, including Bhavesh Maheshwari and Kantilal Maheshwari, were present on the occasion. They scolded Prajapati. Their fight further escalated into a physical altercation. They pushed him, after which Prajapati fell down. After becoming unconscious, his son took him to a private hospital in Dhanera for treatment. Where the doctors declared him dead. The deceased’s son, Prakash Prajapati, informed the police about the incident. The Dhanera police have also registered a case of accidental death.

    Family’s Allegations

    However, the deceased’s family at first refused to accept the body, claiming that the death is caused by the people invited to the wedding. Later, it was accepted after the police’s intervention. The family has filed a complaint against the host of the wedding. The police have been investigating the case, and more information will be known after the postmortem report.
