    Pakistani Javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem, who clinched gold at the recently concluded Paris Olympics 2024, has captured the headlines over the internet after he returned home. The 27-year-old received widespread popularity and appreciation from people for his record-breaking performance, which helped him beat Indiaā€™s Javelin sensation, Neeraj Chopra.  

    Following the Paris Olympics, an ongoing controversy has erupted, involving the Pakistani Javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem. The praise he got has quickly exploded into criticism after he was seen in a viral video 

    What is Lashkar-e-Taiba and who is Muhammad Harris Dar? 

    Notably, Lashkar-e-Taiba is a terrorist organization and Muhammad Harris Dar is the Join Secretary in the Milli Muslim League (MML), a political party founded by LeT terrorist Hafiz Saeed. In the viral video, Nadeem was seen engaging in conversation with Harris Dar. He praised Nadeemā€™s performance in the Olympics, that made him achieve the milestone making entire Muslim Ummah proud.

    Meanwhile, these videos and posts sparked several debates among people, highlighting the influence of terrorism and other extremist groups in Pakistan. This is to be noted that, previously, Nadeem has registered a world-record of 92.97 meters in the menā€™s Javelin throw final, capturing gold in the event against his counterpart, Neeraj Chopra, Indiaā€™s sensational Javelin thrower known for his gold in Tokyo Olympics, making his best at 89.35 meters.Ā Ā

    Nadeemā€™s grand welcome in Pakistan 

    On returning home after his success, Nadeem received a grand welcome at Lahore airport. He was also bestowed Pakistan’s highest civil award, PKR 153 million rupees and gold crown for his heroic performance in Olympics.

    Meanwhile, Nadeemā€™s mother also expressed her pride for her son , and extended her deep affection for Neeraj Chopra. Considering Neeraj as her own son, she mentioned that Neeraj is not just a competitor but also a friend and brother to Arshad. Later, she wished him success for the future.Ā Ā 

    Upon witnessing such sportsmanship and a heartwarming statement from Nadeemā€™s mother, people from both the countries exchanged their happiness over the internet and applauded the athletes for making their nation proud.Ā
