Hamas will not be able to rule Gaza: PM Benjamin Netanyahu

Additionally, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited Gaza along with the new Defense Minister, Israel Katz. During his visit, he alleged that Gaza would not be able to rule over the Palestinian territory as Israel had destroyed the group’s military capabilities.

“I am here on the Gaza coast with the new Defense Minister, the Israeli Defense Minister, the Chief of Staff, the ISA director, and our heroic commanders and soldiers, who are doing amazing work here. Here in the center of the strip and throughout the strip, they have achieved excellent results towards our important objective that Hamas will not rule Gaza. We are eliminating its military capabilities in very impressive fashion, and we are not yet done. Hamas will not be in Gaza,” he added.

“I want to say to those who are holding our hostages, whoever dares to harm our hostages, will pay the price. We will pursue you and we will find you,” he added.

Prime Minister Netanyahu was also joined by his chief of staff, Tzachi Braveman, military secretary Major-General Roman Gofman, deputy director of the national security council Gil Reich, and spokesperson Omar Dostri.

Ongoing Conflict Between Israel and Hamas

Notably, this visit came amid the ongoing series of attacks by Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip and Hamas on Israel. Earlier on Monday, the Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza strip killed at least eight people, including those aged 7 and 9 and their parents.

According to the Palestinian officials, the overnight airstrikes attack targeted a tent sheltering displaced families in Khan Younis. While in a separate airstrike attack, four people, including a woman and a child, died in the Nuseirat refugee camp. The Israeli military has been carrying out these attacks, accusing Hamas of causing civilian causalities and affecting residential areas.
