The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025 officially kicked off in Las Vegas, showcasing a variety of technological breakthroughs and innovative gadgets. The event started with keynote speeches from industry leaders such as Nvidia, Samsung, and Sony, and set the stage for a year of AI integration, smart home advancements, and groundbreaking gaming innovations. However, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang dominated the first day, revealing a groundbreaking AI-powered lineup of products. Here’s a roundup of the most exciting announcements and highlights from day one.
Nvidia made waves with the introduction of the GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs, powered by the new Blackwell AI processor. These GPUs promise significant leaps in AI-driven rendering, elevating the graphics quality for gamers and content creators alike. Nvidia also unveiled Cosmos, an AI model designed to generate photorealistic videos and assist in more efficient robot training. This marks a major step forward in AI’s role in both gaming and robotics.
Unveiled by NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang at CES 2025, the NVIDIA Isaac GR00T Blueprint for synthetic motion generation offers developers a powerful tool to create vast synthetic motion datasets for training humanoid robots through imitation learning.
Imitation learning, a branch of robot learning, enables humanoids to acquire skills by observing and replicating expert human demonstrations. Gathering high-quality datasets in real-world settings is often a challenging, time-intensive, and costly process. The Isaac GR00T blueprint simplifies this by enabling developers to generate exponentially larger synthetic datasets from a limited number of human demonstrations, significantly accelerating the training process for humanoids.
NVIDIA also introduced Project DIGITS, a personal AI supercomputer designed for AI researchers, data scientists, and students to accelerate AI innovation.
Powered by the GB10 Grace Blackwell superchip, which combines a GPU with a 20-core CPU, DIGITS delivers up to a petaflop of computational power. It supports large language models with up to 200 billion parameters, where a higher number of parameters typically equates to greater performance capabilities. The supercomputer features 128GB of memory, up to 4TB of flash storage, and runs on NVIDIAs DGX operating system. Set to launch in May, Project DIGITS will start at a price of $3,000.
In a partnership with KRAFTON, Nvidia introduced PUBG Ally, an AI-powered companion for PUBG: Battlegrounds. This Co-Playable Character (CPC) functions as a human-like teammate, enhancing the solo gaming experience by performing various in-game tasks, such as looting, driving, and combat. The AI can engage in verbal communication with players, providing an immersive, AI-assisted experience.
Razer introduced Project AVA, an AI-powered gaming copilot designed to revolutionize the gaming experience by providing real-time insights, expert guidance, and advanced system optimization. With AVA, players can receive live coaching from elite esports professionals, offering in-game insights and post-match performance reviews to highlight key improvements. The AI also acts as a comprehensive game guide, assisting players with challenges like puzzles, bosses, and quests by drawing on community knowledge to keep them immersed in the gameplay.
Additionally, AVA optimizes PC performance by fine-tuning settings for better frame rates, shorter load times, and enhanced graphics, all with a single click. It even ensures hardware and software are up-to-date for maximum efficiency. Offering a versatile interface, AVA adapts to players preferences, providing support through chat, headset, or during breaks, making it an indispensable companion for gamers aiming to elevate their skills and enjoy a seamless, optimized gaming experience.
Razer also introduced an innovative concept gaming chair equipped with heating and cooling technology. Its self-regulating heater can reach up to 86 degrees Fahrenheit, ensuring a cozy gaming experience during extended play sessions.
Smart glasses are one of the hottest trends at CES 2025, and Halliday’s Smart Glasses stood out as a prime example of the future of wearable tech. These seemingly classic spectacles house a tiny Digi Window micro-display, offering functionalities like live translation, meeting assistance, and turn-by-turn navigation. With AI integration, the glasses act as a proactive AI sidekick, providing real-time information without disrupting the users experience.
For those in the market for a rugged sports watch, Garmins Instinct 3 delivers a new AMOLED display with up to 24 days of battery life, ideal for outdoor enthusiasts. With advanced health-monitoring features, including sleep tracking and solar charging, the Instinct 3 is designed to survive even the most extreme adventures.
Sonys collaboration with Honda revealed the Afeela 1, a cutting-edge smart vehicle packed with AI technology, sensors, and cameras designed to interact with passengers. Starting at $89,900, the Afeela 1 promises a futuristic driving experience, where the car’s AI can assist in navigation, entertainment, and safety. Reservations for the vehicle are already open in California.
Another major development unveiled at CES 2025 was Uber’s partnership with Nvidia. Uber is investing in Nvidia’s generative world model simulation tools and cloud-based AI supercomputing platforms to enhance its autonomous vehicle technology. By simulating real-world scenarios, the AI can help optimize the car’s decision-making processes in various traffic situations, reducing the need for physical testing and improving safety.
BMW also made headlines at CES 2025 with the introduction of a revamped in-car user interface designed to enhance user experience through customization and ease of use. The most notable change is the introduction of a widget-based system that allows users to fully personalize the layout of their cars digital display.
BMW also showcased a cutting-edge feature where the information is reflected onto a specially treated portion of the windshield, creating a heads-up display effect. While the car doesnt feature a built-in display on the windshield, the system uses embedded screens in the dashboard that project data onto the glass, offering a futuristic look at how digital information can be seamlessly integrated into the driving experience.
In addition to electric vehicles, Segway introduced two exciting new e-bikes: the Xyber and the Xafari. These e-bikes are designed to make the riding experience safer, more convenient, and more accessible for all types of riders. Both e-bikes are equipped with smart technology, including features like GPS tracking, customizable riding modes, and connectivity with smartphones for better control and monitoring of the bike’s performance.
