Punjab Residents Wake Up to Warm Mornings, Light Downpour Expected Over Two Days

After a persistent cold snap, engulfed in heavy fog conditions, the residents of Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh are waking up to witness a warm morning. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), a drop in thetemperaturehas been recorded in the past 24 hours. While a light precipitation has also been predicted for the next two days.

The warmth of the temperature has come following the activation of western disturbances. The temperature drop recorded is above normal, the weather officer said.

However, despite warm mornings, a cold wave continued to sweep at night, coupled with dense fog, especially in the remote areas. This fog significantly reduces visibility, disrupting travel, especially in rural and remote areas.

According to IMD, the current temperature in Punjab is 69F (approximately 20.5C), with hazy mornings.
