Bollywood star Aamir Khan will return to theatres shortly with his new movie, Sitaare Zameen Par, which will be released on June 20, 2025. The trailer for the movie will be launched with Ajay Devgn's Raid 2 to provide a sneak peek into this long-awaited film.

R. S. Prasanna has also directed Sitaare Zameen Par, which is being billed as the spiritual sequel to Khan's award-winning 2007 film Taare Zameen Par. Although the latter had also been the tale of a child's battle with dyslexia, the new one takes its backdrop a level up, this time from the school to the sports field, from the Spanish drama Champions (2018). This is the tale of a basketball coach who, having lost a court case, is ordered to coach a team of mentally challenged players, and it turns out to be a life-changing experience for everyone.

Cast and Production Information

The film features Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh on screen together for the first time in their lives. The film, produced by Aamir Khan Productions, Sony Pictures International Productions, and Columbia Pictures, started shooting on the floors for principal photography in April 2025 and completed in June 2024. The film was filmed in Mumbai, New Delhi, and Vadodara.

Themes and Musical Score

Sitaare Zameen Par explores the themes of inclusivity, power, and redemptive power of sports. The movie tries to sensitize one towards the problems and achievements of the mentally challenged, to convey a message of sympathy and compassion. Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy create the background score, as a bitter-sweet, lingering soundtrack.
